"People come first in Livonia"

The City of Livonia was incorporated into a city in 1950, but has had the same boundaries since 1835. It is the largest city in Western Wayne County.

Livonia has a population of over 100,000 people. The city’s motto is "People come first in Livonia" and many of the activities undertaken by the city are family oriented. These include maintaining 42 parks, 21 playgrounds, 2 ice arenas and 3 libraries.

Livonia is centrally located with access to I-96 and I-275 and M-14. The cities of Detroit, Ann Arbor and Dearborn are all within 25 minutes of Livonia, as is Metro Airport.

Livonia has two colleges of higher education - Schoolcraft College and Madonna University and three malls - Laurel Park Place, Livonia Mall and Wonderland Mall.
