CITY OF DEARBORN HEIGHTS
"City with a future"

The City of Dearborn Heights was incorporated in 1963. It is a solid residential community with many neighborhood commercial areas and some light industrial sites located in its 12.7 square mile area.

Over 61,000 citizens have made Dearborn Heights their home. Property values continue to rise in every corner of the city, contributing to the city's desirability as a prime residential and commercial area in the heart of Wayne County. Dearborn Heights' image as a quality residential community, made up of close-knit neighborhoods, good schools and a diverse population, are qualities the Mayor, City Council, and the City's nearly 300 employees do their best to encourage and preserve every day.

The City has four community centers and seven parks, and continues to provide outstanding senior citizen programming year-round. The Richard A. Young Center opened in 1994, and continues to meet the recreational and health needs of the community. Neighborhood parks have received new equipment, and the City is working to expand recreational opportunities at Parkland Park and made the Canfield Ice Arena a more updated and community-focused facility. Residents can also participate in outdoor activities at Wayne County's Warren Valley Golf Course and Hines Park.
