CITY OF BELLEVILLE Belleville was originally a part of Van Buren Township, but became a village in 1905, and then a city in 1946. It has a population of 3,270. For the last 20 years, the city has hosted the annual National Strawberry Festival that draws more than 100,000 people to Belleville during Father's Day weekend in June. Belleville offers a host of recreational activities, including two parks and is located close to I-94, I-275 and Metro Airport.
